Introduction to Evidence-Based Trauma Medicine

This course provides a foundational introduction to evidence-based trauma care aligned with current best practices established by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC).

Designed for individuals committed to becoming their own first responder, this training equips students to rapidly recognize and manage life-threatening injuries in high-stress environments. Instruction is centered on the MARCH/PAWS (PMARCHP) algorithm, emphasizing a systematic, prioritized approach to trauma care.

Participants will gain hands-on proficiency in:

• Rapid control of severe hemorrhage using tourniquets
• Management of penetrating and junctional trauma
• Effective wound packing techniques
• Application of chest seals for penetrating thoracic injuries

This course emphasizes practical, skill-based training to build confidence and competence when seconds matter most.
